Neighbours of the north, Heikki Veijola (1967) from Finland and Dmitriy Bubnovikov (1964) from Russia, are teaming up for the first time. They have both been kiting since the last decade and have six VAKEs between them. They only have one goal: To finish!

Heikki has been snowkiting since 2009 with skis and snowboard and all types of kites. He goes to Lapland once or twice every year. This is his second VAKE. He particpated in Trans-Onego Kite Enduro in 2015 and his team Antiloop placed as #24 in VAKE 2016.
Dima has been kiting for nine years. With five VAKEs behind him, he's a veteran. He's also participated in Russian national championships, Onego Cup and is the master mind behind our sister competition Trans-Onego Kite Enduro in Russia.
Last year, Dima was a life saver when he volunteered to manage checkpoint Bergebyvann with another VAKE veteran - Per Store. In VAKE 2015, he placed as #39 with his team Stressless, but he has stronger results to show for with his former team Onego Band and got a 4th place in Pallas Kite Enduro in Finland last year.
